Mission

Running 4 Vets mission is to support disabled American Veterans and Veteran Non-Profit Organizations through social running events and various fundraisers.

The Salute our Heroes 5k is meant to bring awareness and support for our local veteran organizations.

community

The Veterans Day Weekend Celebration following the race is meant to bring together the community in South Florida to support our veterans and veteran owned businesses. There will be sponsor booths, live music, silent auctions, raffles and more.

Proceeds of this 5K will benefit the following Veteran Non-Profit organizations:

22 projects
The 22 Project supports underserved war veterans who have traumatic brain injuries and are at risk for depression and/or suicide. In collaboration with physicians, therapists, and health care workers, The 22 Project provides advanced medical treatments to reduce a veteran’s risk of depression and/or suicide, including care and evaluation by highly trained board certified physicians, hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), and essential brain supplements and superfoods, all at no cost to the veteran.

The First Tee of Broward partners with United Way of Broward County’s MISSION United to deliver free golf programs to local Broward veterans. Our program not only provides expert golf instruction delivered by PGA professionals,  it also provides an atmosphere for fellowship, bonding and healing among our local veterans. We have provided our programs to over 200 Broward veterans since beginning in 2016.

This event comes with spectacular views! How do you want to enjoy it?

Walk

Prefer a beautiful stroll along the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk gazing at the ocean? Set your own pace with walkers of all ages to celebrate the Marine Corp Birthday and Veterans Day weekend!

Run

Think you can run as fast as our Active Military and Veterans? Challenge yourself to capture the gold in this years' 5K!

Volunteer

Want to give back to your local Veterans? There are many opportunities to volunteer prior to the race as well as the day of the race.

Location

The 5K route will take place on the beautiful boardwalk in Hollywood Beach overlooking the ocean. Start and Finish Line is at Charnow Park, located at 300 Connecticut St, Hollywood, Florida 33019.

Awards

Awards will be given out for the following categories:

  • Top 3 overall male and female 5K finishers.
  • Top 3 Male and Female in the following age groups: 8 and under, 9-10, 11-12,13-14,15-19,20-24,25-29,30-34,35-39,40-44, 45-49,50-54,55-59,60-64,65-69,70-74,75-Over
  • Top Male and Female Veteran
  • Top Male and Female Purple Heart Recipient
  • Prizes to team who raises the most donations
  • Prizes to top 3 individuals who raise the most donations
